Stone Glacier Krux Evo Gear Review
The Krux Evo is the next generation frame from Stone Glacier. I have used their X-Curve frame for a number of years and it has performed flawlessly. I have been fortunate to really put my Stone Glacier packs to the test on everything from elk and deer to Marco Polo Sheep and Ibex. Let me tell you that they are hands down the best pack I have ever used.
This year I had the opportunity to upgrade to the Stone Glacier Krux Evo frame and I was doubtful that it could really be much better than my X-Curve. Well, I was wrong. The Krux Evo features:
- Weight – 2lb 7oz. with medium belt
- 26″ frame height
- Cordura 500d and X-Pac fabric
- Straight carbon composite stays (4 Total)
- Integrated load-shelf
- Heavy-duty, 1″ Duraflex military approved buckles and webbing
- 150+ pound load rating
- Compatible with all Stone Glacier bags
- Can be used as a pack frame for load hauling without any bag attached
- Made in the USA
If you can believe it this frame is lighter than the X-Curve, yet is capable of hauling just as heavy of loads. What I really like about this frame is its overall all adjustability. You can customize every element of the fit to make sure it fits you perfectly. This means more comfort, more stability and the ability to haul heavier loads. As the saying goes “Go in further, stay longer and come out heavy.”
If you are in the market for an ultralight, ultra-strong and ultra-comfortable back pack, make sure to check out Stone Glacier and their amazing line of ultra-light frames and bags. They will serve you well for every type of hunt you can throw at them.
