The Hunting Industry is in Trouble!
For those of you reading this, there is no question that the Wuhan virus has hurt the hunting industry, our economy and our nation. It’s cost us tons of jobs and put so many of us and our families in a very tough position. Now you throw all the rioting into the mix and many Americans are facing an overwhelming challenge. I pray that God will show himself and truly let us know that he is alive and well and cares for all of us. That he will create miraculous opportunities for our families, our businesses, our economy and our country to make the greatest comeback in history.
State of the Hunting Industry
As you see, I believe in God, but I also believe that God doesn’t want us to just sit there and wait on the miracle. He wants us to use the skills and capabilities he has given us to impact others. The reality is that between the virus and the rioting the hunting industry has been hit especially hard. Covid 19 is on the verge of shutting down the hunting industry in many places throughout the world, while the riots are threatening to destroy countless American’s livelihoods. We may not be able to do much to directly effect the virus and the riots, but we can support each other. If we don’t want to see a world without hunting, we need help to keep outfitters, retailers and conservation groups alive.
I won’t lie, being that my business relies on travel and hunting, I am struggling mightily right now. However, I understand people’s reluctance to book trips, invest in gear or use services like S.A.S. There is so much uncertainty about what the next 6-12 months will hold. Will we be able to travel, will we have jobs, and on and on. So while I could be totally depressed, I am choosing to invest in my business and my family. Launched a new website, expanding services, writing articles and doing whatever I can to support my family, my friends and the hunting industry.
What can you do to help the Hunting Industry
Those of you who are in a position to consider booking a hunt, I encourage you to do so, even if you don’t use my services. You can purchase trip insurance to minimize your risk, while helping Outfitters, who are in an incredibly tough situation and could really use your support.
If you happen to be able to book a hunt a year or two out, do it. It could make the difference between some of these truly great outfitters surviving this storm and folding. Booking now will help them provide for their families and continue to take hunters on world class adventures for years to come.
